About USF's Master of Science in Data Intelligence

We live in a world of data. While many people associate data careers with big tech firms such as Microsoft and Google, the reality is that data and the data scientists who manage it all are everywhere, in large and small firms as well as government agencies. They work in diverse sectors ranging from fintech to healthcare, and e-commerce to brick-and-mortar retail firms. These key employees manage and analyze information that keeps today's businesses running.

The field is experiencing significant growth, with a rising demand for professionals specializing in data analysis, big data engineering, and data architecture to effectively handle the substantial influx of data. Employment of data scientists is projected to grow 35% from 2022 to 2032, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is much faster than the average for all occupations. About 17,700 openings for data scientists are projected each year, on average, over the decade.
